Haley’s Baptism – January 2009
The concluding event of the excitement that began with our trip to Disneyland, ran through our December birthdays, took an exciting upturn on Christmas Day, and stayed up late to celebrate the new year, was — Haley’s baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Haley has spent a lot of time this past year preparing for her baptism. She has learned about who Jesus Christ is and what He did for us. She learned about the promise she was going to make when she was baptized – to follow Jesus Christ and keep the commandments, and be part of His church. She was pretty nervous about the actual business of baptism – she doesn’t like putting her face under water – but when the time came, she did terrifically.
We were glad to have so many family and friends that joined our family in celebrating this big day. Grandma and Grandpa Cottle, as well as Uncle Weston and Aunt Erin (with Kate) made the trip over from Utah. Uncle Alex & Aunt Cynthia (with little Alex and Ben), and Uncle Andrew and Aunt Sarah (with Jane and Reynolds) joined us from here in town. We missed Uncle Travis and Aunt Jen (with Drew, Kali, and Megan) who were “out of town” (in Hawaii – the lucky dogs!!). Here are some pictures from the event.
We were glad to share this special day with a friend from Haley’s primary class, Matthew Bryant, who was also baptized.
